I suggest: Doddites.
I'm sure I'm not on your list of potential bad samaritans, I would be summarily drummed out of church. Well, if we had drums. Which we don't.
Posted by susanna at October 28, 2002 08:26 PMI'm sorry, and no offense to Dodd, but I'll be damned if I'm calling myself a Doddite.
I'll put on my thinking cap, though. There has to be a name out there for the dysfunctional family we are.
Posted by page at October 28, 2002 09:45 PMMy goodness, page! Such animosity. I just thought a "doddite" would be the opposite of a "luddite". Hmmmm.... Fodlets?
Posted by susanna at October 28, 2002 09:59 PMLord. That's all you've got?
Posted by page at October 28, 2002 10:13 PMHey, it's better than anything you've got, which is nothing!
Posted by susanna at October 28, 2002 11:14 PMUh, no, missy. I'm still thinking, thankyouverymuch. And when I finish, it won't be anything like Doddite, which sound just a little to absurd and fanatical. Too Randian.
Sara, c'mon: Surely, you have an opinion on this?
Posted by page at October 28, 2002 11:26 PMFor what it's worth, I don't especially cotton to some of the implications people might draw from "Doddites" myself.
Of course, I also chose to talk my ex- out of getting my initials tattooed on herself, a decision I've come to regret since she left me....
Posted by Dodd at October 29, 2002 04:47 PMWell, geez Louise, fine! I'll go take my ideas and shop for somewhere they're welcome!
